Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the purpose of GuitarZ For KidZ Red Deer?
David Gilmore of Gilmore Guitars along with several civic minded citizens of Red Deer founded GuitarZ For KidZ Red Deer in order to get used instruments into the hands of local youth in need. Candidates will include but are not limited to persons who, by financial or other situation, cannot afford an instrument, or who have lost access to their own instruments. Donated guitars deemed suitable for repair will be refurbished by Gilmore Guitars. Other instruments will be refurbished by contributors as we need them. They are then distributed to Red Deer youth in need by GuitarZ For KidZ Red Deer.

- Will all guitars be added to the GuitarZ For KidZ Red Deer program?
- What is the Art Guitar Program
Not all donated instruments can be used as an instrument due to their condition. As such we will be working with the local visual arts community to provide artists with instruments they can re-purpose in whatever fashion they see fit. With the artists permission we will display their works throughout our network of businesses and services and they in turn will assist in advertising our program. Eventually the art work may be sold with some of the proceeds returning to GuitarZ For KidZ Red
Deer.
- Will I get a tax receipt for my donation?
We are NOT in a position as yet to issue tax receipts.
Charitable tax receipts for financial donations will be issued. Where instruments of above average value are donated, we have procedures to follow which may allow us to issue a tax receipt for your kindness.
- What if I don't have an instrument, but would like to make a financial contribution?

contributions to the GuitarZ For KidZ Red Deer program. If you would like to donate funds to support this program, please contact David Gilmore or Don Routley at guitarzforkidz@gmail.com . Include “GuitarZ For KidZ Red Deer” in the ‘subject’ heading of your email.
