About Us
The original Guitars For Kids was co-founded by Dan Walsh & Bob Egan, the latter of Blue Rodeo fame, in Cambridge, ON. The Red Deer program was started by David Gilmore of Gilmore Guitars.
The purpose of the program is to provide FREE used guitars and other instruments to Red Deer and area YOUTH and FAMILIES in need.
David Gilmore brought this idea to several local musicians and other interested people and together we have formed GuitarZ For KidZ Red Deer.
You Can Help Us
Now we come to you our friends and audience for help to bring this to fruition. We are looking for used guitars (acoustic, electric, bass), ukuleles, mandolins, banjos, amplifiers, miscellaneous equipment such as capos, amps, cords, tuners – whatever you have that you don’t need or use any more. We need it all and we will put to good use! So dig out that dusty old Gibson Dove or Stradivarius fiddle from under your bed. We’ll have a look at it and definitely find it a new home!
